Found this in a local Craigslist ad. It's a shame...the body looks pretty good otherwise.

That is what I was thinking. However, the cut was well located -- it looks like it would be easy to blend the side curve smooth while glassing the body back together. Do you know what the current wheelbase is GreenImp?
What I would do:
1. ditch the cut roll cage
2. glass the body back together
3. get a proper buggy windshield
4. go through the chassis so its safe and ready to roll
5. get a torquey motor so it would do street wheel stands
6. don't EVER let a cop see me yank the front wheels off the ground
I won't do this though, because my wife will kill me if I bring home another topless car. _________________

If the price is right it'd be a good candidate for a longer than normal Imp. No harm in trying to add in some material on an already chopped body. _________________ www.LoCashRacing.org

My boss told me I need to work on my mutli-tasking. So now when I use the bathroom at work I surf The Samba on my iPhone. |

No, I don't have any further information on it. I simply stumbled on the ad while searching for sandrails.
It does claim to have front disc brakes and a 5 rib bus transaxle, so I did start daydreaming of swapping my 68 Imp's body onto it. Didn't take long for reality to set in though!
If anyone happens to be interested, It's on Portland Oregon's Craigslist and simply listed as "Dune Buggy"....no mention anywhere of Empi Imp, or even "Manx type" as most are promoted as. |
