Almost got the Baja back together; bought new tires today and hopefully will be driving it within a couple days. As for the buggy, well I'm starting to wonder if that will ever get finished. Lots of loose ends yet.

Hopefully, Nate has been having luck with his Baja since last I talked with him. He was burning up points left and right and couldn't get to the bottom of it.

I need to find myself a good place to get sheet aluminum. I need to re index and put a skid on and I'd be ready to hit some trails.

Who is going to the Michigan Buggy Builders show? I'm ticked I won't be able to make it...again. Next year. Next year...or so I keep telling myself. Laughing

If you're ever on the west side of the state try Allstar Performance in Watervliet or Port City Racing in Coopersville.

Will be at the buggy show, but no early entry for me this year. Waking up at 3:30 am isn't my cup of tea.

I am going to be there, As for aluminum there is a scrap yard in Lansing (Louis Padnos Iron & Metal Co (517) 372-6600) that sells old aluminum road signs and road sign blanks for scrap prices. I have them as part of my floor and they were cheep.

Has anybody used the trails up in the Atlanta area? I see a few that are marked for all ORV's but wonder if the trails are wide enough for baja's and rails.

Yes dowha, lol. This is my life.

Super, I would imagine they have wide trails up there. The run a rally cross race through Atlanta. Here in Northern Michigan we have sets of trails that are wide for full sized vehicles, ones for smaller quads, dirtbikes and side by sides. Also horse trails and foot trails. They are usually marked with signs but now and then you end up on a skinny trail.

Superpro56, I believe they are. You should ask MadMike, he lives in Atlanta.

Im WAY down south, 20 miles north of the Indiana/Ohio/Michigan borders. We have friends that live north of the bridge and wouldn't mind hauling the rail up there and stopping off on one of our trips and tooling around during an extended weekend.

You should hear up to the Keweenaw peninsula. In my opinion, the best trails in Michigan. Wink

You could try TheGoodVolks forums or post a wanted add there. If you are not a member, sign up. It is nice to have a Michigan based VW club/forum. If your on Facebook the Dune Buggy Garage (hosted by Appletree Auto) and Michigan VW Swap Meet (hosted by Jims Buggy Parts) are both fantastic sources. TheGoodVolks also has a Facebook page. If you post something on each of those, you could probably have what you are looking for in a weeks time. Wink
