I've owned my 67 for 15 years and never put much thought into the ride quality I was getting from my shocks. Long before I took ownership of the car someone installed KYB gas rear shocks and Monroe's up front.

Today I installed front & rear stock oil shocks from Wolfsburg West and I can't believe how much the ride quality improved. Feels like a new car! Blind and now I see the light. Very Happy

Autozone - $20 each (Monroe I think). Did wonders for my ride and reduced noise.

These stockers I got from WW were 25 bucks each.

Those Monroe's I had on the front were brutal compared to these I'm riding now...

yeah the Monroe's are usually a HD shock which is to much for a light weight bug. They used to just crossover from a heavier car with the same mounting points.
Big change in the ride when you get the proper shock installed.
