Single Cab in the Movie: "Inspector Clouseau" (1968) with Alan Arkin

...yes; Alan Arkin.
Sure, Peter Sellers did the majority of Pink Panther films, but they gave Arkin a try for one.

It isn't a bad film, per se, it's very much in tune with the other Pink Panther films, and when it has some funny moments they are very funny.
However, it wasn't fantastic. High production value for the time though, and some nice European establishing shots from the late 1960's.

I had it in my mind that the Lindt Chocolate vans in it were splitties, but re-watched it, and no; primarily Mercedes Panel Vans instead. Here's a single cab from it though, and there's a lot of VW bugs in the film too, as well as car chases using 1960's cars.

while its not a old movie it takes place back in the 60's, amy adams Christopher waltz star in it, another tim burton danny elfman combo. while filming in Hawaii there are 2 buses that drive by the court house, one looks like a 11 window turkis/white, the other looks like a red and white 13 window.

Nice panel with pop top and two roof racks at the beginning of Auto Focus.

There are now so many postings forgive me if these are re-lists:

Wild: I think it was when she got to Ashland.

Inside Daisy Clover: ghastly movie.

Double Man with Yul Brynner: all around the ski lodge.

Rio: animation but tons of Brazilian split buses of all models.

Forgive me if this is a repost. Found this at minute 1:15. Not much of this SC is still a split but part of it counts.

I count 5 buses in this 3 minute chase scene from Bullitt:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=31JgMAHVeg0

and too many bugs to count along with one 356. Cool

Split (and Bay) Buses in the Nova Documentary: "First Man on the Moon"

Sorry they are so blurry... naturally it looks less blurry in the movie, but it is also only a couple seconds long (in the documentary).

These are a couple screen grabs from the PBS Nova special: "First Man on the Moon"

This documentary is currently available on Netflix streaming. (Oct. 2015)

Roughly 30 minutes in. A quick fly-by shot of folks near the launch site for Apollo 11.

Looks like all the VW folks purposefully parked near one another.

Brian over in the Bay forum caught these long ago. Cool

They were all a caravan down to the launch site by a dealer as a promotional gig.

Ok this just out and it's beyond comprehension why there is a bus in this video.

Link

Not sure if the youtube brackets will work with this? Seems to in Preview.

Also watched "Gone Girl" last night and there is a bus in a shot at a farmers market.

Sorry it's not an old movie but I thought this was a better place to post than starting a new thread. Hope you don't mind.

Watched " From Russia with Love" on long haul to Japan and saw a red/white split make no fewer than 5 appearances

First one when Bond is picked up in Istanbul at the airport.

Movie made in 1963, maybe used in location in movie?
