|
|
Almost ready for wheels & tires but I can't decide if I'm gonna run the stockers or something different. All the pics I can find of Raders are on lowered buses. Mine is stock height & might be for a long time. I know that stock wheels with stock tires look good cause it looks like a bus but what's a 17 with short tires look like? I'd like to just buy tires and/or wheels once. Any opinions are appreciated. |

Yeah I know, I'm just trying to prove it to myself by seeing one with those wheels, but there must not be any. I could get 15's & stock size tires but would like to see what a 17 looks like. Here's what it looks like on rough Thing wheels & crap tires, I've gotta decide so I can get it on the road.

You can always dick around with aftermarket wheels, tires, height...
I may be wrong... but I think your bus came with 14's.
Having one lowered VW can be fun... but it might be nice to have a stock height VW too. For the next 30,000 miles... if I had your two vehicles... I'd pick up some correct rims & tires.
Going normal speed over bumps & dips with full size tires & ride height has it's appeal.
If you start to go custom... it'll nickle & dime you... because there's always something cooler you want to throw on or replace. If ou go stock now... it'll free up funds to address things once... to get things mechanically, structurally & electrically sound. Cosmetics can wait. It's a sweet bus... give it some love.

Yeah it came with 14's. Mechanical is pretty much done, new harness now so electrical is all done, structural is better, cosmetics I think I'm gonna leave as is other than the seats. It takes a lot to make a bus drive that sat on the drums for 40 yrs.
