How did you get the double negative, Chicky? And what are the lines that transpose the print?

Guessing layer blending in photoshop.
If you look closely, it's one photo (the main one you see) copied and layered, I think maybe 3 times (?) with the transposed layers' opacities and positioning manipulated. The transposed lines you see are actually the chrome trim of the car, on one of the secondary layers. There may be some additional affects as well. Been awhile since I used photoshop.. _________________ I'm the humblest guy on this board.

SB got it right. Don't know how familiar you are with Photoshop. It's just different layers and filters. I'm by far no expert, but I like to play around with Photoshop from time to time if I'm lucky enough to take an interesting photo. Have a blessed day! |

How funny.. I read the header of this thread, saw the date the thread started and then how many pages it had already. I thought to myself "it must be a girl who started this thread and she's attractive".. I open the thread and go thru it and low and behold, I WAS RIGHT!! lol
You have a nice bug there and I love that you have so much passion for it. It's great to see people your age so interested in these old VW's. They are terrific cars and as you stated, are great conversation pieces.
There's a girl in her mid-20's that daily drives a restored mid-60's bug locally. I see her every few weeks and always get the peace sign when I drive by her in my VW. _________________ Contact me at [email protected]

Forget Photoshop, I'm still having trouble figuring out how my daguerreotypes can be copied.
Chicky, did you get your clock/horn button, yet? I'm asking because I want to install one in a spare later-type (the big-ass flat one) horn button. I've seen where a member here did just that, but I'm wondering how far in the clock sits in the depression. In other words, how much of the clock actually fits into your horn ring.
Also, what powers the clock? If it's a battery set-up, can you change the battery by popping off the face of the clock? If I install this thing, I'll have to glue the back of the clock into a dremmeled hole that I will have made in the horn button, so I won't be able to do this without being able to pluck the top off the clock for servicing because the back will be glued in forever.
Below is a picture of my existing horn button--the padded kind. but I have a hard plastic spare that I will use for this modification. the clock will sit where the Wolfsburg Crest is now (but in another horn button that looks like this one).

Nope, not yet. It's on my "to get list". But I like your idea, that would look sweet! |

Nope, illegal in Kentucky to have the whole windshield tinted. It just looks that way in the picture.
BTW Tim, did you get that new addition to the family yet? |

The puppies were born last week. My wife got a picture of them nursing. There were five boys and two girls, so we have the third pick of the boys, I guess.
We received an email that we can come to see them in three weeks. Then we can pay up and take our guy home after he's seven weeks old. So, my wife has already been buying puppy essentials--a new bed, collar (for walking on a leash, only). I'm sure she'll find more stuff in the coming weeks. We already have a hundred or so toys, so I don't think she'll be spending too much in that area.
These Westies are somewhat smaller than the one we have (or the one that just passed), so it will be interesting to see how much smaller he will be in comparison.
I will post a pick of the new guy (I think my wife is going to name him "Murphy") when we get him home. I'll be wearing a VW t-shirt while holding the puppy--so I don't break any Samba rules

Awwwww Westies are ADORABLE! I look forward to the photos.
Mind if I ask why you only use collars for walks? My dogs wear theirs all the time, is that bad? Its been so many years though it has gotten to the point where they get uncomfortable without them...
This is super off topic so something something volkswagen so this post doesn't get deleted. _________________ 1972 Super Beetle, Parked until adequate restoration funding is acquired in restoration!

We keep the dogs in the house or back yard. They can't get out, so we don't keep a collar on them. The collars are attached to their leashes instead. So, a collar means a walk is imminent.
And, any number of posts on here deviate from time to time, so I wouldn't worry too much. I doubt that this thread's off-VW subject matter will turn the Samba into a forum for dogs.

Can't wait to see the pics. My dogs are my life and so are my cars, so the thread isn't off topic.
Besides, it's my thread, I love the diversity!

Looks like you have a happy pack ,
Here's a picture of the little Westies. It will be awhile before we know which is which.
I think we'll pick the white one.

Little girl? Really? I know who "owns" the forum, but this is the thread I started. If they don't like it, I'm sure they'll delete it. Otherwise dude, step aside and let the adults talk. |

Ok, as to get the thread back on track and not to offend anybody, serious question. My rear seats are in like new condition, but my front seats are wearing pretty bad, especially since most of the padding is gone. So I'm thinking about getting new covers and padding. Somebody had mentioned TMI seat covers being quality covers. Anybody got another opinion? |
