What do you guys think looks best on a drag car with trim or not? I'm also struggling with the thought of getting rid of my wing windows cause they really scoop a nice breeze on hot days. I'm not worried about shedding every last ounce of weight, just opinions on Looks. I grabbed a few pics from the Gallery to show two scenarios, what look do you like better?

My vote is for trim. Makes it look more like a real drivable car then a strip car.

I think it depends on the look of the car. Single color paint, old style color, trim. Lots of color? No trim.

I like the trim. And it's less work to keep it. I deleated the head and tail lights. I cut out the headlight buckets and use Lexan covers over the holes. I cut oval holes in the fenders where the taillights were. Gives acess to carbs and sparkplugs when apron is trimed. Just make it the way you want. There is no wrong way.
If you are using steel front fenders, you should saw a slot in the bottom lip and push in the fender behind the tire and reweld so they won't catch air.
Chop top, deleted rain gutters, body lowered over frame. How much time do you want to spend on the body?

ditto.some paint schems act as the trim, and some dont. then there is the guy painting that cant run a straight line so you may need trim.I wish I had filled in my trim holes....or used stick on trim witch would cover & seal the holes.
and some cars have the trim painted on like everything else that isant there but looks like it is.

You should build a car the way YOU want, not worry about building a car that someone else wants. It's yours.

I personally like the chrome. I pinstriped and flamed my car, and still run the chrome (Egad!). I like it. But if someone doesn't like it, they shouldn't run it. Then again, some paint schemes really don't lend themselves to running chrome, I will admit that.

Some people think my car looks tacky, some like the way it looks. Either way, it doesn't matter to me. I like it.

I have a single color and I think I like it better with the Trim, I'll probably loose the wing window though.

What's left of the red car. After it burned down at Sacramento I didn't have much more than this to start over.

I had the engine, fenders, and hood that were still useable. And the seats after I put new covers on them. Body warped and doors didn't close/fit right.

Fuel rail came off on the return road at Sacramento BOR. 65psi of fuel out two 14mm holes in the rail in the engine bay. The timing shack was out of order that day, so someone decided that ZERO track personnel needed to be at the end of the track. So when the car caught fire, no safety crew or anyone was there. They kept running about a half dozen cars after me while my car was a ball of fire before someone that ran after me called his dad in the staging to get the fire crew down to us. Too late by then. Sure sucks to sit and watch your car burn.

Burn baby burn...... Disco inferno......
