Hi, can any of you guys help me with sourcing replacement 1/3 & 2/3 hair seat pads for a 66 bus please. There are none available in the UK, I've tried Wolfsburg West but they are out of stock until August Crying or Very sad
I foolishly had my seats stripped before checking availability, not thinking there would be an issue.
Any help or recommendations of stockists greatly appreciated.

Did they start selling hair pads? They used to only offer foam. Personally, I'd keep looking for the hair pads. Someone must have some on a shelf somewhere.

Don't know...it's been to long since I rebuilt my seats. Maybe it is just foam.

IMO, foam sucks. It does not feel right in an old VW, and you sit way too high.

They don't have the walk thru or 1/3 seat portion. Everyone is out. If anyone finds a source I'm looking as well for backs and bottoms for my 67 walk thru. Please PM me if you find a source.

Wouldn't be too difficult to cut down and shape a 2/3 for 1/3 would it?

It might be difficult to get the right shape, i.e. rounded folded coners, where you cut it though.

Technically you could cut out the middle and bring the two halves back together. Instead of a straight line joint it would be better to form multiple scarf joints http://www.basiccarpentrytechniques.com/Woodwork%20Joints/images/f213.jpg to bring the two haves together. Then use lattice, like drywall patch reinforments, and yellow glue that to top and bottom in excess.

My guess is that there is a much bigger problem than WW is letting onto. Why would the folks that order the pads allow them to be out of stock for 6 to 8 months? Because the 3rd world country that supplies the materials for China to make the pads must have an issue. Something is wrong and I suspect the new pads will be different. WW must be losing out on tens of thousands of dollars and that has to hurt them. A wild guess is that the "hair" comes from Turkey and the instability of the region has screwed up the ability of the farmers to harvest a crop.

Hmmm.... these guys deliver 25-30 days after deposit:

http://www.alibaba.com/product-detail/Coco-Fiber-Car-Seat-Pad_1815436822.html

I bet it's WW haggling over pricing, deal fell through & now trying to get their molds back to send over to a new coir outfit.... and the molds have been "lost"... so now they're scrambling trying to make new ones to send to China.

I emailed info @ WW and asked what's the hold up, gave them this link, and asked for an official response. Thought I would ask instead of guessing.

Just curious what's the hold up and wondering if they will post a response here.

We will see.
