Awesome find!
I wonder if they were not shipped to the US with them? I've never seen one myself. _________________ 1976 Westy

Yes, that seems to be the definitive photo, there. That along with the part description seems to have it clearly attributed to the emergency warning triangle.
Translation to English:
Warning Triangle
The warning triangle is located in a box behind the driver's seat. The box is clamped with a rubber strap and the rear panel of the driver's seat.
Now, about the one on the right side (passenger side for LHD buses)... _________________ John

^^^ one mystery solved. Another one continues. I thought maybe the PO moved mine since I don't have one behind the driver seat. But it does have the hole where it would be mounted and a cleat still attached. Intriguing. My bus is from Canada. Hmmm. _________________ Keep on Busin'

The retractable seat belt gets in the way of the rubber nub. I will stick with the seatbelt _________________ Keep on Busin'

Odd... I can't imagine why I'd need a warning triangle when driving a VW bus. |

Just as I previously posted! Thank You..................

I remember recently having a discussion about the drivers side strap. I was told is for holding: compactable-folding emergency road triangles. Not sure on how many. I will try to find out more this summer if I see the individual a vw show this year. |

I've got the same set and it does fit nicely there. FYI.. I had a second set that had a beetle on it, it was missing the cover. Also am I the only one surprised that a discussion on a rubber strap is going on for so long ?
