|
|
Was watching Barrett Jackson today, and was surprised to a Ghia! it was pretty clean looking too, although the body did have some flaws, and wast perfect. it Came after a very nice looking 1960 ragtop beetle - sold for 10,500.
The KG sold for 8,000
It was one of the cheaper cars that rolled across - there was a 1992 Chevy caprice wagon with custom paint/flames, and a salvaged title that got over 10,500..
Just sharing to kind of show the market - even though it wasn't a perfectly restored car, it was in a building full of car collectors. I thought it would fetch more.
here's a link with more pics

1947 Chevy stylemaster - gone, but not forgotten.
1995 Ford F-150 - gone, hatred for it lives. |

That's an attractive car - I am also surprised it didn't do better than $8800. _________________ RIP HBB (1984-2009)

I'm kinda surprised it went for that. Looks like they started with a well used car that ran and drove, and had it painted to make others think it's some sort of restoration piece. Rough interior, engine compartment is nothing to write home about, and they don't even show the rest of the car. Who knows how it runs and drives, what else it needs, and what kind of mess they painted over. A few thousand more would get you a MUCH better car IMO.

watching some of the Sunday Barrett-Jackson, i was a bit surprised at the low overall selling prices. Especially compared to the Scottsdale money madness that makes me want to throw stuff at the TV |

I looked at the blue Ghia in person. It was pretty rough to bring $8000. It looked really clean on TV. _________________ 62 original paint Turkis double cab

It's amazing what pictures can hide - you really have to look at vehicles in person (or have them looked at by someone else) before you buy! _________________ RIP HBB (1984-2009)
