I know there is a shotgun pattern of posts with this info, but what I am looking for is the best way for raising and widening my Thing. No, I don't want to just raise the body. Ideas? |

I would think the best way to do this is have a complete tube chassis built to your specs that could accommodate your Thing's body. I have not investigated this, but I think I have seen fiberglass fenders for Things that are purposely made wider if you have concerns about wheels/tires extending past stock fenders. _________________ Now: 2003 New Beetle Turbo S / 1990 Single Cab Transporter / 2014 Tiguan R-Line 4motion / 2013 Tiguan S / 2002 Golf GLS TDI

agree with Oasis if you are looking extreme
widened front beam, wider rear arms, tube chassis, taller tires, throw lots of money at her but that will get you there
if not looking extreme
raised spindles, adjustable beam, raised rear plates or aftermarket rear arms. add 3" body, taller tires
then add aftermarket fiberglass fenders. they make them wider and taller. lot more tire clearance and look in height
depends what you are looking for |
