I have a thing I am replacing the boots and the cv joint don't move freely. They have some wear marks but not bad. Can i polish them or do i need to replace them? Not trying to be cheep just been a long time sense I bought any quality aftermarket parts. The joints have the same wear as when i replaced the boots last time and they were very stiff back then also.

Stiff with the boots loose? Lucky there is difference between a a very close fit between parts and binding parts. Tell you the truth, as long as it is not hanging up or catching on anything as you move them around, you will be fine with a simple polish and be on your way.

Just make sure they are assembled properly. Wide edges of the race go to narrow edges of the inner star. Narrow edges of the race go to wide edges of the star. If wide goes to wide or narrow to narrow, take it apart and try again. lol.
