Think that is what I want to get, I will go to a bigger engine next year with dual carbs so need to make sure I plan for that.
A few things, it rains a lot here so stinger is out unless I can put a flapper thing on it like a tractor. And my OCD just wont let me even think of a having a single muffler off to one side or any kind of exhaust that looks uneven, so those are just out. That leaves me with dual exhaust as the only acceptable option.
I like these since it looks like plenty of room for taking the valve cover off, they should clear dual carbs, and ceramic coated, last think is glass pack and not inserts that eventually fly out while driving down the road never to be seen again. So just looking for some other thought or hope that someone has these already that can say something before I order them.
Thanks |

How about a single with spark arrestor? Performance wise, you will sacrifice some power with the dual exhaust. If performance is what you are after, then you need Baja exhaust.

well I did not think of a stinger with a spark arrestor........that would keep the rain out for the most part...maybe |

looks broken , and it is not symmetrical........I know but just don't like the way it looks.
I am looking into the same thing but with no bend just straight up, then cut it lower and put a spark arrestor on it. Or just go with the dual, will prolly end up having the budget decide for me |

You have a steering wheel on drivers side as well? The only cars I have seen with two steering wheels on are the fancy grocery carts for children in food shopping markets.
Just kidding. Couldn't resist the opportunity. _________________ 1800 Type 4 Berrien 295

Get over your o.c.d. And get an exhaust that performs well and that will do you a bigger favor in the long run, rather than buying something to suit your visual needs. Besides, you can't see the exhaust while your driving anyway. _________________ HBB took me to BBV. |

Agreed.
Long term you will be happier because you won't have gotten water in your engine because you forgot to cover the exhaust that one night it just happened to rain. _________________ 1800 Type 4 Berrien 295

So now I am thinking this one
http://www.appletreeauto.com/CERAMIC-RACING-EXHAUST-1-5-8-2050-30/
then cut the tip down just above the bend enough to clamp this on
http://www.jbugs.com/product/3736.html
should work fine on the 1600 with just a few discs in it then when I get the 2276 I can just add discs to adjust for the extra displacement. The cap on the end of it should be enough to keep all the rain out, or at least enough that it wont be a problem anyway. Cost more but will give better performance, not that that should be a real issue for a daily driver but still.
The other thought on this is when I pull my trailer the exhaust is not blowing right at it, which it good since a cooler or gas cans will be mounted on the tongue of the trailer. |

If that is what you really are into that's fine. The disks do help deect a lot of the water, but don't expect it to hold back a good storm.
If you are getting the header from Appletree, you may as well get the spark areestor as well. The same 10" spark areestor in the link you posted is available for $5 less at Appletree. _________________ 1800 Type 4 Berrien 295
