Not trying to tease.....but the document is 85% complete and I took the last pictures about 10 minutes ago. All day in the shop making three versions of seals/spacers....all but one of which has been tested in long miles. It should be posted here no later than probably Wednesday of this coming week.

Thank you! The fun part has been getting the outer seal/spacer between the center link and the idler arm and pitman arms....around each rotating pin. There is no point in wo4king so hard to make a nice part if you cant seal it up.
The issue with everything I do...is that I try to find excellent ways to make parts that use as little machine shop services as possible while still making a very high quality part. There are just too many parts to make on a 411/412. If every single part had to have machine work....no one would be able fo afford to work on them. I figured out three very good options that can all be done with hand tools and two of which require a drill press and one doea not.
Overall the photography is a bit better as well. In the strut document....the original pictures taken last year were done in the garage on my workbench. They were much better pictures, but the background on some of them was to busy....too much of a mess. I dont like to have to many distractions in the pictures when you are trying to convey exact detail.
So I re-photographed most of the strut pics. But.....I have a suspicion that my main digital SLR lens is having some focus issues.
Most of the photos for the centerlink since the parts are very small....were done with my manual film macro lenses on my digital SLR. Tack sharp for the most part. Ray |
