I'm not much into custom work but I have to admit this looks pretty nice. But I do think it would have looked better with an older rear-end.

I'd like it more if the space between the deck lid and rear window was a rumble seat. Looks like of funky with all that dead space there.

You never know, it could be supporting a performance mid-engine drive-train. It looks like one would fit in there.

Yup, too much dead space between the window and the engine. disproportionate and imbalanced.

The unbalanced part is the weird hump in the rear profile caused by insisting on using a stock decklid.

If it were built by a VW guy- it would have a front hood on there like a Heb- not a decklid. I'll bet it was built by a hotrod guy who thought he'd expand his resume', but had no knowledge of VW history.
