|
|
On Oct. 18, Chris and his team at http://www.classicvwbugs.com/ held a foliage cruise in southern NY state, with about 25-30 ACVWs participating. I was in my green '77 Beetle and took photos through the windshield with my point&shoot camera. Therefore the pixellation effect...
We were near the northern terminus of the Palisades Parkway on the western side of the Hudson River. Most of the group is beyond the curve. The Bear Mtn Bridge is visible in the center background, which we crossed and headed southeast on US Rt 6. Maybe another week needed for the colors to peak, though I don't think they'll be as intense as in StockSteve's fantastic shot above!
After our first stop near Peekskill NY, we headed back over the Bear Mtn Bridge, then up the scenic Perkins Memorial Drive road on Bear Mtn.

Can't argue with you there.
Couple pictures from this morning, Thursday, May 7th, 2015, crossing over the Houstatonic River on the Sikorsky Memorial Bridge (spans between Milford and Stratford, CT), 6am or so...

Out on a club run, snapped by a buddy in a squareback which you can see in the reflection.
