Fiberglass buggy, 1914 motor, pyramid bus trans. How big a tire can I easily turn? I have plenty of room, just wondering if I can go with a 32" tire with this motor and trans combo. I currently have 30 x 9.5 x 15, and after a 2" body lift, and converting to IRS, my current tires look lost. |

I'm assuming he means the five rib 002.
To the OP: How big a tire you run not only on your body clearance, but also on the trailing arms and spring plates you use. Stock arms and stock spring plates only warrant 31 inch tires with a normal tread crown at the most before they rub on the spring plates where the torsion bars pass though. You can get away with this by using longer trailing arms and axles, or you can use cut down swing axle or conversion spring plates with shorter torsion bars and stock arms.
Tell us more about the suspension? With out knowing what you have, any answers you get would be pure conjecture. _________________ 1800 Type 4 Berrien 295

Here is your short answer 31 max. This question has been asked and asked and asked. There is a long list of reasons why and you can read them if you stop and take your time and use a tape measure on your car. |

That trans with a 31" tire will give you pretty close gearing to a stock bug. Any taller and you will start loosing power pretty quick. That's assuming they clear your car.
I'm going to run 35's with a 3 rib and a 200hp motor. I'm a little Leary about getting too high geared even with the big motor, but for where I play the ground clearance is more important. |

I would stick with 31s, easier on the motor and transmission _________________ Wash your hands

I use 31/10.50 bfg mud terrain in the rear. they bring me through anything and i only have a stock 1600 dp. your 1914 will turnit no problem. in the front i like my 215 bfg all terrains. they grip great. |
