Ok since you asked. Wife and I saw it yesterday and if your idea of a good movie is two hours of a chase scene and CGI every five seconds with dead bodies flying its a hoot. Me I would have appreciated a more developed plot line. Like most sequel movies it does not do justice to the original. I heard the other day the average human attention span is down to eight seconds now from twelve in 1980 but that a goldfish has average of nine seconds. How many of you were adults in 1980? I rest my case. I predict the movie will bomb and be on DVD very soon. Don't waste your money. |

It grossed 44 million in the USA this weekend, and George Miller has said this is the first of a trilogy, looks like more to come!
Sorry you didn't like it. The cinematography was awesome and there's actually very little CGI in comparison with any modern day movie! Curious what CGI every 5 seconds you saw,. There's 18 minutes of B Roll on youtube showing them film, perform real stunts, in real vehicles, with real pyro.
To each his own

Wife and I saw it, it had just touches of Mad Max, Setting????.......
but it could have been called, three tribes chase 4 hotties and a chick with no arm and i would have been fine with it.
Sequel????
in Regards to the 44 million, I paid $40 to watch it(plus popcorn, I am not surprised. _________________ I'd be UNSTOPPABLE if not for Law Enforcement and PHYSICS.

Prequel more I think. What did you think of Beyond Thunderdome then? Curious... _________________ 1957 Beetle

Yes to each his own, time will tell how well it does. Even though I saw the movie with a decidedly younger audience at one of premiere theaters in the U.S. all digital and Dolby 7.1 sound it failed to impress this audience. Experience has been that if a movie is good and it resonates with the audience, alot of oohs and aahhs and comments after the show. This was lacking as the audience was mostly quiet but hey I could be wrong. Like I said if a two hour chase scene is your cup of tea then it's the one for you. Reminds me of the old saying " If you don't expect anything you never be disappointed " Frankly I felt as though I'd been robbed of two hours of my life. Take my word for it will never crack the American film institutes 100 best films of all time |

As a big fan of the original Mad Max I went into it not expecting it to be very similar and did enjoy Fury road very much, unlike the original there was not the long lead in to when the real action started but yet still managed to deliver a decent plot, I would compare Fury road more to the road warrior (mad Max 2) but with even more action and it sure beat beyond thunderdome which really was a bit of a disappointment even though I have watched all 3 original Mad Max movies numerous times. _________________ ____________

A prequel wouldn't be set in a post apocalyptic setting would it? _________________ Your Vanagon sucks, Stop waving at me.

It would, I think it might focus on Furiosa's past and/or where Max has been up until arriving to the Citadel. _________________ 1957 Beetle

Have not seen it yet, a bit scared to be disappointed like BTD. The original is The Best of the 3. The dynamic between the Toe-cutter and Max set in a sparse wasteland of judicial failure is chillingly familiar. Road Warrior also makes the grade. I so wish good movies would stop making sequels/prequels sometimes _________________ Fat chick owner/operator |

I saw it with my 13yr old son. I found it entertaining. There was a lot to look at. The work that went into creating those vehicles was pretty impressive. The freak factor on the characters was pretty impressive as well. It was definitely a sensory overload flick. I would see it again to focus on other parts of the film. |

I will probably enjoy it to some extent...because i can separate entertainment from the need for realism....to some extent...except in hard science fiction (if the physics and chemistry cant support what is going on....my interest fades).
One thing from looking at these cool vehicle creations....alot of what is on them...just would not be available in the post apocalyptic world.....ie the speaker monster in the picture.....the cones would last a month in the desert. Its a little too clean to be post anything....but it looks cool!
Actually one of the best action adventures from the last year worth a sequel....was Dredd...

I'm all over Charlize and with a shaved head, dayum!
My take on the movie was that it was not nearly as good as the originals (maybe as good as Thunderdome).
Everything looked too clean, even the dirty stuff.
Love me some Charlize though.

Is this what evolved from the Grateful Dead's "Wall of Sound" stage equipment?

I watched the new one not too long ago. It's great that they didn't ruin the series. Beyond Thunderdome was the closest chance of ruining it _________________ Wash your hands

Just saw it, As a Mad Max superfan I have to say...it was AWESOME!
Totally different than the original three but with enough little winks and nods to keep us fans happy.
To me the biggest difference is that the original movies show a plausible future while Fury Road was total balls-to-the-wall fantasy! _________________ 89 Syncro GL Westfalia 2.1 WBX/WBXaustSS

We saw it last weekend, I was entertained but left feeling like it was missing something! Didn't seem enough Mad Maxish? The action was fine, some of the vehicles little over the top. _________________ Pres. Rivercity VW Club www.rcvwclub.org
