66. I bought this off of a guy in Melb with all original parts showing 56k on the clock. All other work was performed by myself.

#116808487-going by the VIN it's a mid year car. Came with Round button handles, but going by VIN should have Square buttons.
As purchased in 2009 from the Mr Chang family in Hacienda Hieghts, Ca. who bought new at Bob Bozzani Motors in Monrovia, Ca circa mid-'66. Came with the tool kit, the Owner's manual, and one bent front plate frame. Shows ~36K miles, but figure that to be more likely actual 136K
Still has it's original engine
Having fun with it, and no changes have been made that can't be easily reversed

I still don't know what those 67 guys are on about. I think 66 is the best year. |

In 1967 they stopped making the VW Beetle and started making the VW Bug. _________________ 1966 Beetle Pearl White |

The only thing better about a 67 is their surviving registry. Us 66'ers need to step it up and be counted. |

Sorry, but I think 67's are the FUGliest year body style. _________________ .

I learn something every day. I thought a '67 Beetle body was the same as a '66 except for a few things like fenders etc. What else is unique about the '67 body only? |
Rear apron and rear shock tower area for the Z bar are the two areas that I know of that are not the same as a 66 on the "body". i.e not the bolt on parts _________________ View my 66 build thread here: http://www.thesamba.com/vw/forum/viewtopic.php?t=507996 |
