Picked up a new pair of seats that were intended to be used in a 60's Mustang.
I was originally was set on using PRP suspension seats but realized my a$$ wouldn't fit the seat and the PRP Widened seats won't fit the Manx....

Beautiful and neat looking build.
Please search samba on using urethane steering couplers. Some have experience with those couplers catastrophically failing with no warning.

Thanks for the note regarding the poly steering coupler (it's coming out!)

I should have known better: I used one on my SVO Mustang several years ago and it worked great for about 400 miles before it failed.

To make things even more sketchy, the one used in the picture was included with the new steering gearbox I purchased over a dozen years ago and sitting on the shelf. I must have had a total brain fart when I thought this oil soaked POC would work?

They are Pro-Car seats from Scat.
You won't find them in any VW based catalogs 'cause they were intended as replacements for a 66 Mustang.

Scat in Redondo Beach is on my way home from work. I went in with my measurements knowing they had all of their seats were on pedestals so I could sit in them to be assured my a$$ fits. The suspension seats I wanted wasn't going to work like I hoped and when I notice these (and sat in them) I grabbed a set. The numbers posted say they won't work but they fit me and the Manx perfectly.

May I ask what the cable is for that goes from the hump behind the passenger seat to battery? Is it a radio power cord? Kill switch? NICE COLOR!!

ManxDavid: yes, those are the seat.

Daanbc: The cable is my Battery Tender that keeps the battery's charge topped off when not being driven.

Bruce tried to talk me out of the color purple I originally requested 'cause the dye used on the flake was notorious for bleaching in prolonged exposure in the sun. He added red pearl to the clear gel-coat over the blue metalflake. It's purple in the right light yet still bright blue (my favorite color).

Got my rims back from being widened to 6" with a 4" offset.
Had them powder coated to match the rear 10" I did earlier and my P205 60R15 birthday present mounted.

The 1/2" of tire exposed beyond the fenders match the rear offset perfectly and the hubcaps are flush with the tire for the look I was going for.

Not satisfied with the Jeep style rubber hood hold-downs that came with the kit, I came up with a latch system from a 66 Mustang (turned side down).
To release the hood latch, I found a boat's hatch latch that uses a key, modified it a little and with a few bicycle parts, mounted everything into the dash:

Looking forward to see it (and you)!

I have to ask, where did you get that cable latch? I could use one of those.

Thanks.

And seeing you as well, Vincent.

It's actually a door or hatch latch that I cut the latch portion flat, drilled a small hole to feed a bicycle cable through a bracket I made.

I picked up a pair online, half the price of my local marine store:

There are several options avaiable including solid stainless construction

The second cable latch I made up unlocks a Ghia hood latch I mounted for the rear buggy hatch

The generic dune buggy cable shortening kits have let me down in more ways than one. Thought I'd keep the factory, brake handle threaded threaded end on the cable (perfect fit in the factory brake boot) and shorten the brake drum side of the cable with architectural wire rope stainless swageless fittings.

Man, these things grip the park brake cable significantly better than those cheap dune buggy cable shortening kits.

The shortened clutch cable got the same cable end treatment. I cut the eyelet down to the wrench flats and drilled a hole on its centerline. The threaded end that was cut off the new clutch cable was pressed into and then welded to the swageless cable end:
