I pulled a motor from a 67 bug, and we're were told it was the O.G. Motor. But the motor has the type 3 dipstick block off on the bottom of the case, but no threads for the front motor mount. Can this possibly be a early type 3? _________________ Trying to find a complete Dog House set. Including the Fan. |

It's a 1968 Type 3 case.
The "U" prefix was used on FI engines, while the low # and lack of rear hanger mounting bosses would put it in the 68 model year. _________________ 1988 Ford Festiva L

That's rad! Thanks for the Info! By the way, this is the best sounding motor I've ever had in stock specs. It puts like a cat, and quiet! I have to be careful not to doze off while I'm crushing te freeway, I can barley hear it! _________________ Trying to find a complete Dog House set. Including the Fan. |
