I might have an early type 3 motor. Need help I.D.

I pulled a motor from a 67 bug, and we're were told it was the O.G. Motor. But the motor has the type 3 dipstick block off on the bottom of the case, but no threads for the front motor mount. Can this possibly be a early type 3?

It's a 1968 Type 3 case.
The "U" prefix was used on FI engines, while the low # and lack of rear hanger mounting bosses would put it in the 68 model year.

That's rad! Thanks for the Info! By the way, this is the best sounding motor I've ever had in stock specs. It puts like a cat, and quiet! I have to be careful not to doze off while I'm crushing te freeway, I can barley hear it!
