I've seen a few pictures of bugs running weld wheels:

I really like the look of weld rodlites and would like to fit a set to my 63.

How do people go about changing the stud pattern on the earlier bugs? Is it just a case of changing over to disc brakes (I don't think discs would clear these wheels), or are they using ford/holden brake components mated to vw mounts?

Anybody know?

That's a pic of my car. I had Chevy pattern disc brakes on the car at the time. To get the stud pattern you can either re drill your drums for 5x4.75, or install disc brakes with that pattern. In that pic I have an 11" narrowed front beam, and the rear is narrowed 3" each side. To run the fronts you'll probably need a 4-6" narrowed beam, but they won't tuck that much.
