|
|
Hello everyone,
My name is Tom, I own and operate a carpet cleaning biz in Nor Cal area. The reason I joined the forum is I need some help.
I built a beast of a carpet cleaning machine using a 1600 dp motor, and I am looking for a crank pulley bolt but it is a certain kind.
It is kinda rare it come off of a Type 3 that had AC on it.
The bolt is @ 4- 5" long hex shaft on it @2-3" then just your normal VW crank pulley bolt.
If you guys could point me in the right direction that would be awesome Thank you.
Tom. |

When I needed a longer pulley bolt, I went to the hardware store. It's a standard metric thread, so any length is available. Sorry, but I'm not sure how easy it is to find metric hardware where you are. Just an idea. |

Too bad my carpets are all in Sweden. You'd be first in line for my business otherwise. _________________ I strive for perfection. Excellence will not be tolerated!

Nicely done on the truckmount. What are you using for heat? I didn't see propane or heat exchangers or diesel?
A vw guy around Sacramento used to have a vw powered truckmount. it was geared to run at fairly low rpm's and ran a 5.6 blower with propane heat. Amazing power.
I used to work at one of the carpet cleaning supply stores here in Sacramento for about 7 years. 1998 Hydramaster Service Technician of the Year, no big deal... |

Thanks guys,
Well I had a 69 bug when I was 16 and never lost the love for them. When I decided to do the build I was going to go with a Honda vtec but I was sitting in my chair thinking about it, and bang it hit me, Dude! you could totally put a VW in there.
For heat all I have right now is a high capacity oil cooler in my water box. It cools the oil down to about 170-180 and gets my water to about 145. We are working on a exhaust HX, I bought all the ss coil tubing but I have been to busy working on other things, maybe this winter when it slows back down.
If I do another one I will go with a 59 blower, slower speed less noise.
I have twin 45's right now. |
