Hello everyone,
My name is Tom, I own and operate a carpet cleaning biz in Nor Cal area. The reason I joined the forum is I need some help.
I built a beast of a carpet cleaning machine using a 1600 dp motor, and I am looking for a crank pulley bolt but it is a certain kind.
It is kinda rare it come off of a Type 3 that had AC on it.
The bolt is @ 4- 5" long hex shaft on it @2-3" then just your normal VW crank pulley bolt.
If you guys could point me in the right direction that would be awesome Thank you.
Tom.

When I needed a longer pulley bolt, I went to the hardware store. It's a standard metric thread, so any length is available. Sorry, but I'm not sure how easy it is to find metric hardware where you are. Just an idea.

Too bad my carpets are all in Sweden. You'd be first in line for my business otherwise.

Nicely done on the truckmount. What are you using for heat? I didn't see propane or heat exchangers or diesel?
A vw guy around Sacramento used to have a vw powered truckmount. it was geared to run at fairly low rpm's and ran a 5.6 blower with propane heat. Amazing power.

I used to work at one of the carpet cleaning supply stores here in Sacramento for about 7 years. 1998 Hydramaster Service Technician of the Year, no big deal...

Thanks guys,
Well I had a 69 bug when I was 16 and never lost the love for them. When I decided to do the build I was going to go with a Honda vtec but I was sitting in my chair thinking about it, and bang it hit me, Dude! you could totally put a VW in there.
For heat all I have right now is a high capacity oil cooler in my water box. It cools the oil down to about 170-180 and gets my water to about 145. We are working on a exhaust HX, I bought all the ss coil tubing but I have been to busy working on other things, maybe this winter when it slows back down.
If I do another one I will go with a 59 blower, slower speed less noise.
I have twin 45's right now.
