| is there such a thing as a long throw vw shifter? I need more throw than the empi handle shifter gives me ! |

What year is the chassis on this ride? Is the position of the shifter a problem or is it that you simply want a longer throw? Going to a stock VW shifter might be a good option. Or if you want a really long throw, try a early 60s Bus shifter...  |

"Short throw" is really a misnomer, a short throw shifter actually moves the shift rod farther forward and aft and side to side in proportion to the distance your hand travels than a stock shifter.
Do you want the shift rod to move farther or do you want your hand to travel farther?
Like Glutamodo says, if you want your hand to move farther, a bus shifter would definitely do it.
