|

Does anybody remember seeing a picture in a thread of a simple little bracket, mounted to the fan shroud, to hold spare spark plugs? I can't find the picture anywhere. _________________ 71 Type 1302 Custom

That could be it, Everett. It's definitely, the same concept. I can't remember the topic of the thread but the spark plug holder was a side line to the original subject. Thanks for posting that pic. _________________ 71 Type 1302 Custom

Those would be very easy to make, once we get the water jet machine back up I will make a couple.

This is what I ended up doing.
It started out as a piece of aluminum square tubing. Just cut my piece, filed it to the desired shape, then drilled and tapped the holes for the plug, and polished it up. They just thread right into it. |

Does anyone know where to get one that would fit the fan shroud? Or how to make one? This would be a great DIY if someone could explain. |

Out of curiosity, was this an actual vintage (speed) accessory? |

Also, how does it attach to the fan shroud? |

Found this thread whilst searching for info on spark plug holders, anyhow Aircooled Accessories here in the UK have recently lauched this product:

I quite like it but still intrigued as to how it is mounted to the fan shroud, any ideas? |

The holder arrived today so had a quick play around with a bracket using the existing fixing on the backing plate and a hex spacer:
