Anyone else get a PM like this one I got yesterday? I have no problem helping him out if legit, but the user (Emc123) just joined yesterday with no posts. I put his link in brackets so no one would accidently click on it.

It seems to me that any info gotten from random responses by internet fora members would be completely worthless for the purposes
of any legitimate academic "thesis". Therefore, there must be some other purpose for the "survey". From this initial bit of dishonesty, the
necessarily speculative thoughts go in only one direction: downhill.

Someone else emailed about this today too.
This guy contacted me and asked if he could contact some members.
I told him he should not PM anyone but could start a thread instead asking for general input as other people have done similar things in the past.
I also told him his survey had some issues, I couldn't even answer question #1 - it has too many choices for me to answer in a logical manner.
He didn't respond to me after that.
I guess he decided to PM some people anyway.
