Just finished my 99 vr6 into my 81 mk1 rabbit.
Having issues the gauge cluster Heat and gas dance. No power any where else..

any ideas?

Everything is hooked up, soon as i put power to the car with out even turning the key the Gas Gauge and the Temp gauge both bounce or *flutter* up then back to 0

The cluster also requires a constant power source for memory (this one is usually tied into the cigarette lighter circuit) if the cluster doesn't have this signal, the gauges will have these "seizures" upon power up.

Your guess is as good as mine all these parts were stuffed in a 85 mk2 that i bought from a guy he got rear ended so i bought it for my swap.
