Hello, I am looking to buy this 1990 Rabbit and was wondering what should i look for when i look at this thing. I have only ever owned beetles so i am unfamiliar with these types. Major issues? Rust outs? Engine problems? etc.
Thanks

A couple things I've run into when looking at buying one:

If its a 5 spd. Play in the shifter, if it's real sloppy, you'll have to rebuild it, not a big deal, but will need done.

Power windows, I've replaced more switches than I care to count.

Top, make sure it goes up & down easily, no rips or tears.

Normal things, leans, drips, grinds, thunks etc.
