I've searched the forum and found 3 or 4 people who have asked this question and approximately 99% of the answers are some high-and-mighty jerk trying to make the OP feel like a loser either for their ignorance or budget. So if that's your angle, please don't bother. I promise, I won't be impressed. But if there are any nice people who have some actual advice for another nice guy, I'd be grateful to hear it.
Shops? Moonlighters? Freelancers?
Looking for a decent, single-stage, two-tone paint job on a 78 bus. Not show-quality. Not cheap-as-dirt. Just good paint. Body work is all done. I'll pull the glass and door handles and lights, etc. Who can prep/sand/clean and spray it with a reasonable level of competence and service?
Or, if you just want to tell me how utterly stupid my questions are, I can't wait. Have at it.
Thanks for any help. |

I'm interested in the replies. I have my bug stripped and mostly sanded and looking for a place to go. I want to hear others opinions on what to shop for. |

What's your budget? $500 to $5000 go to Maaco. Anything over that and a sensible and willing body shop will eventually bite. I'm 90 miles north of Seattle and will do paint on a Bus or Bug for 10,000 or more. And you'll never regret it. _________________ The best things in life aren't Things

I have a suggestion...Pls PM me if interested.
I had a real "good guy" help me with my '57 Oval.
Like the few said above, budget is everything.
I was super lucky to have hired and worked with a real winner by the Speedway in Monroe. I'm not trying to be funny here, there are a few true Dub-Guys around here that ARE real winners. I can recommend an honest dude who has been a GAS to work with.

There is a place you can go in Everett and do it yourself. Its a spray booth rental place.
I didn't take mine there, I just used the good ol fashon rattlecan and latex painted flowers. (clearly Im not going for "show quality" |
