Not sure of the kit but a Lotus White Standard isn't something you see every day.

Here's a really unique SO42 just posted for sale. It's optioned almost like a German delivered/no port code Westy (two tone, locking steering column and a bunch of other cool mcodes) but does indeed have both a Westy code (B42) and a port code (PA - Panama). Also very early for 67 production (August 1st, 1966):

Interesting. Looks like it is not m-coded for safaris, but is an original safari bus. And has 024 (us wiring) and 175 (us bumpers)
Like the 65 westy I used to have, but never took a pic of the M-code plate.

Here's another interesting bus for this thread, been for sale for a while (seems like a good deal). Sold in Hannover, Germany and then imported to Canada:

Two tone paint, steering lock, no jalousie windows. No port code/Westy Code (or Westy VIN code) but does have special paint code.

Has the early cooler (whale pump), spare tire setup removed for Eberspacher (which its mcoded for), also ordered with belly pans.

I found a pic in the gallery of a 67 camper with no such code. Nwo that is of course assuming it is a real westfalia camper

That bus has the B42 Westy M code and the Tourist Delivery (UT) export code...

... here is my M plate... 1962, E33 = SO33 and UT = tourist delivery... SK # is the paint code
VW was not 100% consistent on M plates... I don't think the subject bus was a Westy or started out as a camper, but was home made and i'd still enjoy the heck out of it.

Other than Susan's? I've seen one other SO42 with the plaid interior and it was also German delivered. There was also a SO44 poptop found in Colorado in 2016 that has the early plaid interior.

ok, what I am trying to ascertain is if buses with the euro wall sconces ever came with mustard vinyl?

my 65 'euro' so-42 has the wall sconces seen above, but zero remnants of upholstery to go off of.

Im leaning towards using cloth check as it appears the two details go together?

They are many more examples of German delivered SO42's with mustard vinyl and the 'double deep' euro wall sconces. Chance are it had the mustard vinyl but its possible it had the other. The vinyl holds up much better (and is way cheaper) but doesn't look as cool.
