hi there all,
im glen from Australia, new member here!
I have a 1973 (L) bug which is similar to a super beetle I believe.
it has topline coil overs on front.
any way I luv big rims and im aware a lot of you don't like big rims!
any way im interested in buying some " simmons" fr series 5 spoke in 19"x 7" wide.
and run 215x35x19 tyres.
I recently brought a " percy's wheel rite tool"
19" on back not really a issue but on front will be some rubbing in places nothing that can not be modded e.c.t!
any way I just wanted to please know what offset will I need to order please for these size rims/tyres ?
a positive 38 or even positive 40 offset may be ?
I also found a place I can get my inner guards lip rolled and tucked in for $125 a pair which I will get done!
hope to hear please your answers soon for the correct offset I need!
thanks a lot all.
cheers
glen

The reason no one has responded is you're in uncharted waters here and no one whats to give you 'off the cuff' advice.
Purchasing a wheel-rite tool is a good start and it's better to have a wheel with a bit too much offset than too little. If you have too much offset and the wheel rubs on the inner suspension parts you can always add spacers. If the wheel has too little offset and the tire rubs on the fenders, even after you've rolled them, you're hooped.

hi mate
thanks for the reply and advice!
sorry for the abruptness!
yeah I was thinking the same thing with more offset than little at least I can add wheel spacers!
was thinking of about min 40 positive offset.
hope some one else with previous experience can chime in with some advice.
cheers
thanks
glen

Experience with what? You didn't even post a picture of these big wheels you want to buy. The rule here is to post pictures or link to what you are talking/asking about.
