I'm trying to find some pics of a bug that was in vw trends I think in 99 or 2000. It was a purple bug that was either a 68 or 69 that had early fenders. I remember it had a swamp cooler and I believe it was from Arizona. Any help is much appreciated.

Are you 100% sure it was VW Trends? Here's one from Hot VWs, but I could be wrong

The only other Arizona based Beetle I could think of with a swamp cooler is Matt Howards' Beetle. But it wasn't Purple, it was Pink. It's been featured in both Hot VWs (1990-91) and in VW Trends (Mid 90s)
Matt's Pink Beetle featured scallop graphics, Chromes 5-spokes & a few choice original Empi parts

The one I'm thinking about wasn't on the cover but there was a write up on it. The cooler was purple too. Oh well thanks though. I really appreciate it.

Her name is Michelle (no last name given). She is the sister-in-law of the car's owner, Chris Howard.

How bad is the wife that he needed her sister to pose with the car?

All this over a Muppet? I clearly see a prop stick holding up her arm like Grover.

That also occurred to me. Since Chris thanked his brother Matt for helping build the car, the other possibility is that Chris was single at that time and the cover model is his brother's wife -- who would also be Chris' sister-in-law.

Can't you just re-index her torsion bars?

I'm sure there's a Dr. in Orange County who could make that happen.

Definitely sounds like the kind of remark inspired from sharing barracks with a couple dozen other fellers.
