but the fuel guage is electronic, the sender is just in front of the motor

Downstream of the FPR?, you'll only be reading what's in the return line.
Speaking of return line, is it connected to the front right nipple on the tank?

The CSV line would be a good place for the flow test, 1 liter+ in a minute would be nice.

the sender is after the pump but before the fuel rail. i cant remember which nipple the hose is on but i followed the german supply diagram.

i appreciate everyones help with this. thanks again.

EDIT. checked the german supply diagram that i used and it has the right front nipple as return. my lines should be ok.

Update:

Unplugged the starter to make sure u could hear the pump. It is running when cranking and running with the AFM flap held open.

Now the weird part: pulled the fuel line off the CSV and even with the pump running there is no fuel.

Either the new pump is bad or I'm clogging filters 100% almost instantly.

I guess I do believe my pressure gauge. I think the pump may be bad out of the box. I plan to replace the pump and filter and recheck for gas flow at the CVS.

I dread having to pull the gas tank yet again. But if new pump puts out no gas then I have to assume there is a problem in the plumbing. I have a new WW gas tank that I didn't use because the nipples on the tank are the wrong size. They made it incorrectly. I suppose I could double clamp the hose on the smaller nipple there and keep my fingers crossed.

What's weird is it ran for a full minute earlier and the pressure was 31Psi initially. Then it died.

ALSO I checked for 12V+ DC at the pump and its good. It is a new loom after all.

ALSO I have two gallons of gas in the tank. Is that enough to get it running?

It should be, if you have the pump inlet connected to the rear nipple, not so much if it's on the front one.

You didn't leave any pinch clamps or visegrips on a line somewhere by any chance? Any lines kinked or pinched when installing the tank? Will the tank gravity flow those 2 gallons if you disconnect the line before the filter?

No, no and will check for Gravity flow

And again, thanks

You sure?

It's awful easy to siphon from a bug.

Busdaddy!

no gravity flow from the hose to the fuel filter. Decided to pull the tank. guess what? hoses reversed. What a dweeb. Can't believe I did that with the diagram in front of my face.

Any way this thread is closed. thanks so much to everyone who helped. I could not have solved this problem without you guys!
