Installed missing bumper splash pans. Really stiffens up the whole bumper.

I would never use glazing putty for anything, especially over welds. For the left side outer rockers that I replaced on four busses, I used a thin layer of fiberglass filler over the series of tack welds, sanded it, then a layer of regular filler.
I want to remind people to remove the ruddy-colored "packing" primer that is on the Brazilian panels. It is not waterproof, is sprayed on over smooth sheet metal, and is there to protect the panels during storage and shipping. You don't want it on the inside of panels like rockers.

Awesome Tom,

Been there, done that in the past, we can't know it all, and it's always good to know of a good mechanic who can look at your issues with fresh eyes and fix your problems. Was it just the 12 volt choke or other stuff too causing you grief?

On topic, I just finished the assembly of both cab window frames for my '59 DC resto, man, am I glad that's behind me! They came out great! Now to get them mounted on the doors and be able to close them without any paint contact...

drove all 3 buses over the weekend
Friday I took a ride down to rustywagen in south jersey where I'm keeping the Coram Rug Works and we went out for a spin around town

Saturday Mike and I were bored out of our minds so we parked our buses at the beach and pitched a tent.

and today I warmed up and washed the double cab in anticipation of getting it registered this coming up week

scraped a bit more of the several coats of paint covering up the original Mango on the 1960. It is a slow process, but I am hoping to keep that original paint no matter what. The roof will be a challenge though. No easy way to deal with that.

glazing/spot putty should not be used like that. It's for pin holes/heavy sanding scratches. Should use a duraglass type product to seal your welds- won't absorb water. IMHO

I wanted a rear Hurst bumper to match the front, but I didn't want to drill the body. I got a repro hurst rear and some extra bends from Jeremy in Hemet and I cut and extended the side bars and used the original bolt mount to mouth side bars to the jack points.
The side bars are in 3 sections, but will be welded together into one piece when I get the time (and motivation). To keep the cargo door from crashing into the side bar, I replaced the stock door bumpers with bumpers for a sliding glass door (ACE Hardware).

Daddybus
I've always wanted to run m194 mirrors on the Daddybus, but I was concerned about the durability of the cast arms. A guy named Matt in Texas machines these and they are awesome!
I reworked the cb antenna mount on the passenger side.
No vibrations or mirror shake.

The master cylinder on my '60 panel puked it's guts out on my driveway a couple of weeks ago and I considered myself lucky that it didn't happen while driving...so, I decided to rip into the brakes and everything needs a going through. The knee bone is connected to the shin bone which means I'm also going to rebuild the entire front end...all pretty crusty and I need the experience and peace of mind that it's safe.

I repaired years of neglect on the inner part of the decklid. It's amazing how you can have a bus with one super straight and zero issues, then you have one that looks like someone beat the inside with hammer. Laughing
