So I'm about to spend $400-500 on supplies (not including panels or anything) to do some body work on my 79 westy.

The bottom few inches around the bus are rusted pretty badly and many panels will need replacing.

I own a decent mig welder, cut off wheel, and angle grinder.

Here's what I'm purchasing. What else will i need?

Ingersoll Rand Angle die grinder

3M Roloc assembly 2" and 3" (these seem ridiculously priced)
3m sanding pads 3" 24 Grit (cleaning up welds)
3m sanding pads 2" 50 Grit (cleaning up welds)
3M Course grit Conditioning pads 2" (not sure what I'll use these for. Seemed handy.)
20 Pack of 3" cut off wheels
25 Pack assorted 2" flap discs

Seymour weldable primer
DeWalt wire brush cup (attaches to angle grinder)
6 Piece durablock sanding set
Bondo Gold Body filler
Bondo glazing puddy
Bondo applicators
Por-15 Metal Prep
Por-15 Paint

Just looking to see what else I should get while I'm stocking up. I hate working on a project only to have to stop and run to the store, or worse, order it and wait for it to arrive.

Thanks!
Nick

What would you recommend to replace the Bondo products? They had quite good reviews online, so I assumed they were decent.

There's nothing wrong with Bondo products. They are "decent", but considered bottom rung quality, compared to other products out there.
Plus, via years of mis-use and abuse, Bondo has almost become synonymous with poorly executed, "cave & pave" repair jobs. Not the Bondo's fault.

I like Evercoat products, but that's personal choice. I'd use Bondo products if money was tight enough.

Here is a little bit of information. Read the first 3-5 posts; old, but still true.

Then go to the Evercoat website, and be overwhelmed w/ choices.

I think MasterSeries is a better product than Por-15. I think it costs less and is a simpler process than required for Por15. I have read quite a few issues using Por15 that I have never experienced using MasterSeries.

Mostly agree. Don't know if MS is a "better" product than POR, but for cost & ease of use, MS wins, hands down.

Harbor Freight versions are just about as good. 3m's are stupid expensive now. Last year they were about $1 a piece.
