That is looking sweet! I'm working on a spoiler as well. Hope to finish it up by September...
Anyway, which Pods did you start with? I want to mold pods to my buggy like you did. I don't have the skills you have but will try to work through it. |

I used the Manx side pods, Had to trim but not too much. I will tell you it is alot of work molding them in. I sealed the bottom off wich was more work for me.
September Yeah that is what I said 5 years ago.
The plan is to get the bottom done in a week or two and then flip it and work on the top. I should have it done in another 5 years _________________ 73' Bug

Thanks for the info. I'm still looking for a set of old pods to use (wreck) .
I've been kicking around the idea of making my own pods. Heck September is months away... Should be plenty of time... If I knew what I was doing that is .
Actually I'm just starting on the body work now that I have my chassis all finished. |

Well I made a little more progress on the buggy, smoothing out the bottom side. I will be going at this full force until it is done.

Looks like it's coming together nicely. Too many get in a hurry at this stage and skip the small details. Good on you for flip'n er over to not miss those places that impatient builders do. |

Thank You, The plan is to get the bottom smoothed out this weekend, and then make sure everything is welded and where it needs to be on the pan. Then the pan will go off to paint. I then can start on the top of the buggy installing the windshield and dash brace. But for now I will focus on the bottom half.
Thanks

The painter did my rough underside fiberglass the body colour. I was gonna roll it a satin or flat black. Looking at it now, and with a buddy's advise I might leave it that way...?? I didn't prep it so it still has the rough texture.
Enough about mine, glad to see your on the home stretch with yours !! |

I like the look of finished side pods. It is a LOT of work, but I think the end result is worth it. I have done one.
Your arms will heal and the ache will slowly leave your memory once that paint is laid down on that body. _________________ Bad News Racing 2018 NORRA 1000 3rd in Class

made some progress on the buggy, I have the windshield mounted and made a bracket for the steering column. I also added some plates to the cut section of the tunnel to reinforce it.

OK found a way to help make everything feel nice and tight. I installed a bronze bushing in the end of the steering column. It is a Stainless steel tube that I polished for the column. I also polished the stock turn signal switch. Here is the column
