Just seeing if anyone on here recognizes this car. I bought it off craigslist here in Mesa, AZ a few months ago. The guy I bought it off of said he had it for a few years, but looked liked the title was still open with a PA address. The guy I bought it off of was named Damien and the title was in the name of a Patricia. Please let me know of you have any info on this car. Thanks

It's actually in great shape. It runs and drives and stops really well. Everything works on it except the horn. I did a compression check on the engine and all 4 cylinders were between 115-120 and it has an aftermarket pulley on it, so I'm assuming it was rebuilt at some point. There's no rust on it at all. The floor pans and heater channels are all original but look brand new. I'm actually shocked by how good of condition they're in. It does look to have been hit at some point. The front apron was not welded on very well, and it doesn't have the original steering column or correct year steering wheel. It's also missing the correct year hood and taillights which I'd really love to have but the wheels and tires are brand new. It was also painted a pastel yellow at some point, I'm guessing sometime in the 80s and just primed over that, so I'm working at getting it back down to the metal or original paint

It could be like mine no one seems to know any history on it. Even though it came 30 to 45 minutes aways from me when i bought the car so it remains unknown witch i kind of like but at the same time as you would like to know how the owners where before me and the guy i got it from like you do good luck with it

Did you get the title notarized when he signed it over to you? You are going to have a giant pain getting it moved into your name.

Yeah it was notorized. It's already in my name. Just looking for some history on it. It's been painted a time or two, has some mis-matched parts, etc

I'm working on getting it back down to either the original paint or bare metal depending on how it goes. I ended up finding a peace sign spray painted on the door lol.

Did you ask Deasertbusman ?
He should know about any bug in Mesa AZ .
He has a primered 71 camper bus and a light yellow superbeetle that he uses as a daily driver .
You can usually find him Saturday night at the big get together in the shopping center nearby .
