Hi, I am 22 year old Design student from Croatia (Europe) and I own a 1972 Sedan Beetle. Currently I am in the process of converting it in to a convertible beetle, you could say it's a Karmann replica as I am trying to make it as close to Karmann Beetle as possible. The reason for this conversion is that there is close to none Karmann here in Croatia so buying one is not an option. Also I had Sedan laying around so conversion costs are under 1k $ total. All the metal work is done by myself. I'm still thinking about engine, currently it has 1300DP, but I would like to swap it for a 1600 or 1776..

Looking good
one quick note
you will want to add reinforce steel/like vert reinforcement rails along pan sides. if not, you will start sagging and doors won't close etc. I am sure you are aware, the roof structure provides strength to body. it is now removed.
keep up the work |

Do you plan to use any type of folding top?
If so the windshield height and overall shape Sedan vs Convertible windshields are very different.
I notice you used a Sedan windshield, so you may want to take that into consideration.
Nevertheless... good work and nothing wrong with making it how you like. _________________ aka Ken {o\!/o}
