Been a while since my last update, might have something to do with waiting for 6 weeks for a sheet metal order from KlassicFab. Oh well, Live and learn...

I redid the short rocker as I didn't like the way It was done originally. I also buttoned up the rear cargo door skin.

I ended up removing the spot/glazing putty and using the resin based filler that is waterproof on the advice of another samba member.

I finally found a vendor to make me the interior panels (below the beltline and the two uppers) for the Flipseat and they arrived last week. Ralph did a great job and they look great, I just have to finish them so no pics yet.

Here's a link to his ad-

The passenger rocker/floor section looks great. RJ does some really nice kits.

I love the careful blend into original. You sure can weld good. My patience with the individual weld blobs always ends up with holes and warps.

Thanks, I appreciate that.

Mine did too. I've found that patience is key, otherwise it all gets too hot and you start warping and blowing holes. I've also discovered (via others) a lot of tools that have made the process much smoother.

I'm actually contemplating painting the whole thing too ... Yikes.
