I have experience with this guy. The "solid" pans in the car he sold me are nothing of the sort. And the "original" front clip was so obviously badly welded in that I can only believe he was lying. No one with any experience with VW's would have said it was original. Wish I had known what kind of seller he was before I bought from him! |

They're trying to pass this one off as a 1957 Oval body on a 72 chassis. It might have a 57 Oval window grafted onto the body and some other Oval body parts, but it's definitely not an Oval body.
"VW experts will quickly spot the fact that this isn't a 1972 Volkswagen, not the body shell at least. It's a 1957 Beetle body on a 1972 chassis, combining the fantastic oval-window early Beetle look with the upgrades that came a decade or two later. Of course, the screaming orange paint, raked stance, and subtle body mods take it a few steps farther away from stock, but that's a big part of this Bug's appeal. Finish quality is remarkably good, particularly for an affordable Beetle, and the bright finish works rather well on the endearing rounded shape. Beetle fans will quickly spot the folding Webasto sunroof with black canvas lid, the modified engine cover designed to offer better cooling, as well as the visor over the windshield that gives it a period look. The rest of the 1957 details remain intact, from the cool little horn grilles under the headlights to the small taillights and sculpted tail panel. And chrome bumpers really set it all off beautifully."
Big windows and non ice pick door handles
Non-Oval dash, 67-up interior door handles
Gas door, flat tank |
