I seen it, and had to save it. I did only pay $500 for it. It came with an extra good set of headlights and a good set of rear pop outs. I'm thinking a grea deal. My plan unlike my 69 is to go as stock as I can. I'm even going to leave it 6V.

PostPosted: Fri Sep 04, 2015 10:47 am    Post subject: Wheel Color Reply with quote

I know this subject has been posted many times, but next week I have a chance to get my wheels painted and want to get it right. I have an Oct 1958 build Euro sunroof and want to get the colors correct. I see that WW list the color as L336 "dark blue" does anyone have a photo of that color? Also what color is the inside (back of wheel) of the wheel? Is it the same dark blue?
Thanks in advance
Bruce

A Glasurit paint shop can mix both.

So this is the case number on the engine I removed from my 59. I can't seem to figure out what year the engine is. Does anyone have any idea as to what year it could be?

So I may have figured it out, I think it may be from a 65. But I still would like a second opinion.

Thanks for the confirmation. Now the search for the correct year engine begins.

Does anyone have a copy of the original card for the fuse panel?

I'm doing the wiring on my 58 and I was hoping to find a reproduction of it for mine.

Fyi, Jason aka Jays58 bought one from WW, and was not very impressed by it.

PostPosted: Fri Oct 02, 2015 1:50 pm    Post subject: OG Sunroof Color Reply with quote

I am still waiting for my Capri blue 59 ragtop to come out of the body shop. In the meantime I have begun restoring the sunroof assembly which then leads to this question; I decided to go with a vinyl top since that would have been what the factory installed. Does anyone know the proper color of the top? Is it supposed to match the Capri or is it shades darker or lighter than the Capri?
Any help would be useful
Thanks in advance
Bruce

The sunroof cover is supposed to be L126 light grey.

I tried to translate the grey color in the chart and loosely it says "folding cover underside" I really don't think the color would be grey. Look at the drawing of the bug at the top of the page; the sunroof cover is a darker blue which is what I would expect. I wish I knew some German to see which of the colors goes with the outside of the cover

Yeah, I hear what you are saying. "Faltdach" translates to "Folding roof", and that could honestly be for a convertible top. Ill keep digging......
