Sometime in the last 15 years, I can not remember when exactly, I sold 2 Ghias to Samba members. One was a 1974 coupe with a 1972 front end grafted on and smooth heavy gauge sheetmetal floors. The other was a 67/68 convertible in grey primer with a missing rear apron. Both were sold when I lived in the south end of Charlotte , NC. If you purchased or know who purchased these cars, please post a reply with how they turned out. I am curious to see what became of them. |

The Samba website was started on April 11, 2000 - just over 15 years ago. Can you get a bit more specific as to the date when you sold the car?
I say that because you can view the member list under forums, which shows when they joined. You could then see who was a member when you sold the car and perhaps the ID would look familiar. The list would be pretty short 15 years ago compared to today.
In addition to photos do you have the VIN on the vehicles? _________________ Ghia Owner Emeritus |

UPDATE:
My wife (the keeper of the records) found copies of both titles and a bill of sale for the 74. I don't have complete VINs for the cars. i only have the information listed on the titles, both of which were Florida titles.
1974 Karmann Ghia Coupe
VIN: 1442294983
Buyer initials: RDB
Sale Date: 7-10-2005
Buyer location: Moncks Corner, South Carolina 29461
1868 Karmann Ghia Convertible
VIN: F62020167326
Sale Date: Sometime after 7-10-2005, probably in 2006.
If I find a sale date for the 68 i will post it. |

This is going to take a little pro-active input from your side seeing as you have more information than we do.
Try Googling "RDB (full name which I assume you have) Moncks Corner, South Carolina 29461" and see what comes up. There are plenty of online directories offering information for a small fee that you can follow up. _________________ John.

The DMV can do title searches too. You may have that service available online for a fee. I had to do it in VA to get the title for my Ghia but I had to do a combination of going to the DMV and online searches.

I live 20 miles from Moncks Corner and don't know of any 74 Ghias around there. |
