I made some new interior panels today. I didn't get the job fully finished but I only had 3 hours while my boy took his nap to get the marjority of it done. I started at 8:30 before everyone got up and pulled both front panels and the rear hatch panel.

After waking up the family we went into town to my in-laws house to pick up some paneling, stain and my engine stand. Then it was off to HD for a sheet of paneling, lube and finishing washers. Once home I put my son down and got to work. I traced and cut the new panels, put 2 coats of narural stain and 2 coats polyethylene on them. As I said I didnt get finished cause the sun went down, I need to finish the polyethylene on the door panels. Here are some pics of what i have finished so far.

Nice! Very Nice! You just inspired me to do my rear hatch panel in the AM. Already have the birch from my slider door project.

Thanks Tcash, it's just regular old paneling from HD.

Last night after work I finished polyurethaneing the front door panels. This time around not only do I have door seals but I stained and polyurethaned both sides of the panel. My OG window cranks were feeling old so today at the shop I asked about replacements. He had some universal ones that would work so I grabbed a set for $10. After work I was able to modify the window crank and get the passenger panel installed before the rains came.

Those window cranks are indestructible and will outlive your bus. Good choice.

That's a bold statement....

Had no choice it's what he had, I'll have my OG ones for back up when and if they fail. Hoping to get the drivers panel installed tonight. Lots of work and family time and not enough me/bus time.

Aftermarket OEM ones are junk. Broke mine in a day and then got those. I trashed them loading stuff and slamming them against stuff and they held up great.

I was feeling good about my new door panels so today I restained my slider panel. The panel was still in good shape so I removed it, sanded it a little and put 2 coats of stain and 2 coats of polyurethane on it. Looking nice. I also made a new panel for the top of my small storage box that is in place of the tall cabinet. That panel sees a lot of abuse and need to be replaced, no pic of that.

What a great day. Last night after work I spent several hours loading up the bus. This morning we hit the road for Pagosa Springs to attend the Four Corners Folk Festival. My wife will be vending her jewelry at the festival and I will be...drinking way to much beer. The bus killed it. It was really loaded and squating quite a bit. I was suprised it drove 60 the whole way over many "hills" without an issue. Temps were also great! Vendor camping is a small area and we all have to squeeze in. We were able to score a spot right near our vending tent with enough room for our side tent. There is a tree kinda in the way but it's all good.

I left bus at the festival with my wife and headed back to durango to pick up our son from daycare. Tomorrow I have to work then I'll be off to the festival again until Monday.

The side tent is our savior...it's been raining on us for the past 36 or so hours. The tent has kept us dry and its givin us a nice place to have guests over to party! Since we are vending we are camped in vendors camping which is front row. I can see the stage from the bus and don't have to brave the rain to enjoy the music. This location has helped the tent become a revolving door of people wanting to get out of the rain, hang out and drink.

The rain hasn't slowed the festival down at all. The music has been great and so have the people and the beer. Smile My wife's booth is doing quite well and we still have 1 more day of selling to go. Off to make bacon, eggs and home fries.

Happy Festival,
Rich P.

Sounds like fun. Don't forget to lay the tents out to dry when you get home so they do not mildew.
Good Luck

Oh, man. That sounds good.

Looks like a good time out there. Was just thinking about our side tent sitting up here in the occasional drizzle of portland. Sure is a nice feature to have. But we opted for just the awning since it has been a while for us to experience rain. Kinda nice.

The side tent is cool but it's real big, takes up a lot of space and it takes a good 45 minutes to set up. We use it on extended stays like this one but for a quick camping trip we use the EZup. Your awning is nice, simple and easy to carry.

Good afternoon with the bus. While my son napped I was able to get some maintenance done. I rotated the tires, adjusted the brakes, painted the drums, hub caps and the exhaust. I was suprised that it has been 3k since my last brake adjustment, usually it's every 1500 miles. It was 10,000 on the tire rotation, I cleaned all the studs and used anti-seise on the threads.

I really like that side tent. Any more info on it?

It is a Spacesaver tent, I bought it used and not sure where it came from. It's kinda big and bulky but really awesome for extended stays.

The Add-A-Room from BD is the closest thing you can get new, I think. The major difference in the two tents is the BD one has a floor and mine doesn't. I use some indoor/outdoor carpet.
