Replaced front drum brakes with disc brakes from TopLine. Great improvement. Took me three hours to do the swap. |

Finally drove it after almost a month, rediscovered that I had an oil leak that sealed up on its own after daily driving it. This means that I need to drive it more _________________ Stupid people do stupid things. |

Stabbed the engine back into my bug with the help of my best friend after doing a great bit of cleaning up the engine and installing new parts. _________________ I drive a bug, not a half-circle with wheels on it... |

Finally got the starter out and replaced. Bled the brakes, adjusted the valves and took her for a spin after sitting in the garage for almost two years. Ran and stopped perfectly! |

Did you rebuild them or find new ones? I need to do something with mine before I put my ,69 back together. _________________ Steve Moore

Um..Rebuilt-ish, I replaced the outside rubber and straighted the kink in the chrome a little bit with some pliers as a added bonus the silicone lube I used really put a shine to the old chrome but if your gonna do it I would say replace the inside and outside rubber at the same time since I only did one eventually im gonna have to take it all apart to do the other. _________________ Tell me and I forget. My last set off days off I removed the tarboard from the rear quarter panel areas then added some quickroof and some insulation to cut down on the road noise.

Sunday--went to attend a local weekly all makes car show we just heard about on Saturday. We arrived and followed the instructions of the parking lot director and ended up IN the car show lot instead of the show parking lot. So we found a spot popped the hood and boot and stood around for a couple hours chatting--may go back next week! |

I finished waxing my "new" as of Monday Super Beetle and filled up the brake reservoir after discovering the master cylinder was leaking. I guess I will order a new one next week. |

Got my engine back together after several weeks of work on it. Put it back in my 73 Standar Beetle and it started right up but when I shut it off and I went to the back there was oil flowing everywhere. Looking all over the engine it looks like it is coming from the top of the engine from under the fan shroud. So I think it is the oil cooler so now I need to remove the engine again to check it out. I am going to visit my wifes family so I will not be able to do anything for about 3 weeks. _________________ Mike
