I recently purchased my first air cooled bug and have been fixing it up, I have just replaced the clutch so I can drive it but it feels like it has a part throttle hesitation and at cruising speeds I can actually feel the throttle pedal moving or pulsing under my foot and I have no clue why it would do that. It is a 1967 beetle with a 1600dp and a 34 pict solex carb any help would be greatly appreciated as I have searched all over the net and cannot find a solution.

Possible transmission mounts moving around? Loose tin maybe moving the cable tube around? Check under and make sure everything's tight.

I installed new front trans mounts yesterday but the parts store didn't have the rear. I will check the tins thanks planenut. the cruising speed hesitation definitely coincides with the gas pedal movement.

did you jack the car up from the engine when you did the clutch? probably ripped the rear mounts. or there just shot. that will cause what you are feeling. bad news you got to pull the motor back out to replace. Crying or Very sad might as well check the axle boots and replace if there ripped or are old and hard. while you got the motor out . easy job with the motor out.
