In my '58 walk through... the jack/tool roll storage hole/access is from the top of the seat pedestal. This '58 bus probably also has the typical hole... but has an additional access point on the side (that my bus doesn't have.

Any of you ever seen another like this?... or do you think it is a 'farmer hack'? Looks pretty clean & rectangular + seems to have nice original paint there. If someone was going to do a hack... this is an odd one to choose as 'important to do'.

I see other holes cut in the dash so I think it is a hack.

I just sent the owner an email about it... hopefully they'll reply.

Pretty rare bus... pressed bumper/double door/walk through: http://www.thesamba.com/vw/classifieds/detail.php?id=1790871

First pressed bumper walk through I've seen for sale in a while.

It's priced right... but sure, anything less would be awesome.

Nice that it still has the 58 walk through heater protective cover plate.

I think I've seen that thing on eBay more than once. Seller is trying to squeeze every penny out of it.

If there is space behind the hole for the chassis then that is my guess. People did that so you could just reach down and change tracks and tapes without looking. I'm so naive that it may have been so he could grab his/her pistol.

Ok... I buy the 8-track option as a viable theory... but now does anybody else have a small white arrow on the back of the passenger bulkhead? Cool
