|
|
Hi
I am looking for a photo showing the detail in the lower areas of the wheel well area. I just want to make sure I have all the correct components like jack supports, wiring support etc
This angle, but a little wider in perspective - this cuts off the edges a little for what I'm after. Looking for a known original car.
Any help appreciated, mine is a late '62 build, early '63 model year. |

This is the left-side of the tire well area in my '67. It's all original, just as it left the factory, although a bit dirtier.

Thanks rcooled, if the rest of your car is that good you are very lucky!
If its not too much trouble, could I ask you to take a similar photo of the right side, and a central shot as well? Would be much appreciated.
For instance on that silver centred shot I posted, there is a wire support for the horn wires, it is just out of shot in yours. And I don't know what the tall thing is to the right of the horns. The shorter triangular support further to the right is the jack support. |

It is the bottom mount for a vertical windscreen wash bottle where the lid pokes out the top next to the trunk lid catch. There is a photo of one on this page: http://www.oldbug.com/davevghia.htm and it is from a later model than your 63. _________________ 1962 Karmann Ghia

Thanks for that, I'd never seen one before. But my current '63 is the newest Ghia I've ever had! |

Here you go, Angus. From my original paint (L87 Pearl White) '64 Ghia cabrio. Scrubbed the area with SimpleGreen, and touched up some of the rust with Photoshop paint . The blue container at the bottom (frontward) of the horns is the electric washer bottle from a gen-1 Scirocco. Additional red and white wires are for the washer bottle, as well as for driving lights.
And from my gallery, a few months ago, the right side:
