im new to this i am wondering wich paint to use on my 56 l227 bug i need to know is for original look .do i use a sigle stage paint or the one were you got to add clear coat ? and whats the best brand paint that would give it orignal stock look .

If you want to use a metallic paint then you should go with 2 stage BC/CC. If you are going with a solid, the SS will be fine and will probably look more stock. I went with Spies Hecker Series 257 which is a single stage urethane. It wet sanded and buffed out very nicely.
