When I bought my notch, the PO gave me a box-O-parts with it. I got two partially complete 32-PHN carbs and a distributor.
I have been working to make the car stock, minus the alternator conversion which is for a bumpin stereo that will eventually go in. Ive been driving it every day and decided I really like the stock feel of everything, I kept all my 6volt parts so that some day Ill swap everthing back, but for now the added juice is nice.
Anyway, Ive got my side draft carb with a 009 that was in it, and thought "wouldn't it be great to put in the stock distributor". Im sure the vacuum advance would be real nice. I come to find out, the distributor in the box is a Bosch ZV/PAU 4 R 6 which from the manual looks to be the correct model for the car which was built in March of 63. Its in really nice shape too.
Only problem is, the distributor is missing some things: points, cap latch, rotor and cap. I can probably get a latch from any old distributor, but the body of the dist. is huge and needs a big ol cap!
Anybody know where I can get the parts I need for it? I did a vacuum check and it works great. Also, would I need another condensor for 12v or does it matter since its a resistor? _________________ 63 Gulf Blue Notch

Never worked on any of the large 40 horse distributors.
You're best best is to contact Wolfsburg West or BFY Obsolete for tuneup parts. _________________ Glenn

If you have a picture, I might have what you need. I have a few old 40hp T-1 distributors, caps and rotors. Might even have some points. _________________ Society is like stew. If you don't keep it stirred up, you end up with a lot of scum on the top!--Edward Abbey

I just threw a picture of the T-1 distributor that I have complete up on my web site.
http://classicvw.org/gallery/just_stuff/dscf0017
It is complete with a good cap, rotor, condensor, good VAC. unit, and all the clips and springs.
I will even throw in the NEW set of non-Bosch points.
PM me if you are interested. My prices are reasonable. _________________ Society is like stew. If you don't keep it stirred up, you end up with a lot of scum on the top!--Edward Abbey
