Hey all, I have a 74 Vw Thing, my ft suspension was sagging out so I installed new coil over shocks, should I take out the locking torsion bolts so the torsions twist freely? Seems still and one side sits lower on pass side.

I think the locks need to stay in place. Not sure? but coil over is a different
kind of shock, adding ride height make's the coil stiffer= rougher ride.
I think JI joe will have some info with this. good luck.

Are they those cheap EMPI coil overs with the chrome springs? Those things are garbage and will make your car drive like a log truck even when adjusted to the lowest setting.

A proper rebuild of the front end(bushings, bearings, and clean out and replace all old grease) should do a right. I did this to mine and it did wonders..(after I tried to cheat with those crap coil overs.....)

It has settled a little bit over the years, but no trouble.. Wink

I tired the coil overs and they are junk.

Just go with GAs adjust KYBs and lube, lube and relube the front end.

It does make a differnce like GIJoe said.
